Willow Rosenberg - Sauve, Wiccan Computer Hacker

"I'm so the Net-Girl"

Willow was also born and raised in Sunnydale, the (only?) daughter of Ira Rosenberg and his wife in a very Jewish household. She's very shy and very reserved, and is the total opposite of her best friend Xander. Growing up with Xander was an interesting experience to say the least, he stole her Barbie when they were five and they used to play doctors and nurses together. Willow was the doctor and used to dianose Xander with real illnesses.

She is also the person you go to for tutoring help.

Willow is Computer Hacker extrodinaire, her skills are legendary and she was one of only two pupils chosen to be viewed by a software company (very MiB). She helped Jenny Calender scan some of Giles's old texts onto computer and in doing so inadvertantly released the demon Moloch. Moloch then infested the world wide web and became Willow's chat-room 'boyfriend', Malcolm. Willow is probably the only girl in the world to have the coroner's office bookmarked as a 'favorite place'

As is always the case, Willow's love life does not run smoothly. having been in love with Xander for like, forever she has watched him fall in love with Buffy, a preying mantis and a mummy and CORDELIA! And every time he's gone to her for love advice (is the boy blind?)

However, thing are looking up as Oz (lead guitarist for 'Dingoes Ate My Baby') has taken quite a shine to her, after seeing her dressed as an Eskimo at the Exchange Student dance and as a 'ghost' on Halloween. The first time they met oz offered her canapes, (bless). Also soon after they met Oz took a bullet for Willow, saving her life in the process. Willow was more panicked than Oz.

Soon things started to warm up between them, nut not as quick as Willow hoped. She wanted Oz to get 'an A in Willow...and a little gold star". he soon got the message, but not before the Gang and a very shocked Willow discovered that he was a werewolf. Willow, her world crazy enough already, what woth the vampires and all took it quite well.

Willow is the voice of sanity within the madness of the Hellmouth but she does have a nasty side which peeks through occasionally, but only very occassionally and usually aimed at Cordelia.

Willow has a strange phobia, it's frog fear. ("don't warn the tadpoles!" - What's My Line? pt 1) which she used to create a diversion when Buffy was hunting the Der Kindestodd in the hospital.

A magic spell of Xander's gone awry, made Willow fall (even more) in love with Xander, making her go as far as hiding in his bed until he came home and then trying to seduce him. He ran away (the manly thing to do) and her spell muddled mind decided that if she couldn't have him then no one would and chased him around Sunnydale with a huge axe.

After Jenny's death, Willow was asked by Snyder to take over the teaching of her computer classes and in doing so was introduced to the wonderful world of Wicca through the discovery of the Ritual of Restoration, the spell need to give Angel his soul back.

However, trying to do so landed Willow in hospital when Drusilla attacked the Library and Willow had a bookcase pushed over on her. Even though she suffered terrible concussion she was determined to help Buffy ("See me resolve face? You know what it means.") and even succeeded in giving Angel back his soul, although she didn't know this, what with Angel being sent to Hell, and the only other person who knew had run away.

The summer Buffy was gone was quite hard for Willow; not knowing whether her best (female) friend was alive or not, fighting vampires, having a serious relationship with someone who really loved her as well as getting more involved in magic.

Only little things, fire out of ice (which ruined her duvet) and tiny glamours to hide spots. She tried to hide her magic learning from Giles, who would have dissapproved. She was more worried about him finding out than her parents, at least Giles pays attention. Buffy's return meant that Willow and Buffy had to pretty much rebuild their relationship from scratch, but a horse of Zombies helped it along quite quickly.

Willow and Oz's relationship looked like going from strength to strength until mysterious animal attacks started happening again and the prime suspect was Oz.

It then got tested more when Willow and Xander did the most unspeakable of things and shared a kiss. They put it down to the clothes they were wearing, but we all know differently. Willow had loved Xander for a very long time (which he knew about) and Xander had admitted that he loved her while she was unconscious in the hospital. They started having a secret affair, nothing too serious, just kisses until they got kidnapped by Spike. (Exemption for a life or death situation you see). Unfortuantely, Cordelia and Oz (who had come to rescue them) caught them having 'da smoochies' and were not impressed.

It took Willow a long time to get Oz to even talk to her, but not so much time to start rebuilding their relationship. Willow even went as far to bring out the Barry White albums to help create a loving mood. (I think it helped).

The alternate-Sunnydale/universe Willow is not at all like our little Willow. She's into leather, torture and to top it off is a nasty little vampire. One of the Master's top hench-vamps to be precise. Along with Vampire Xander they cause mischief in a Sunnydale with no Slayer. Her beloved Oz is one of her human enemies and in a climatic fight in the Master's factory is killed by Oz when he impales her on a wooden strut.

Life for our Willow also had it's ups and downs, particularly when two little children are found murdered in the playground, to supposed victims of a satanic cult. A witch hunt ensues and when magic items and ingredients are found in Willow's locker she is put under house arrest. Her parents (who before paid little attention to their daughter) suddently become very interested in her daughter's little activities and her friendship with that trouble maker 'Bunny Summers'. Her mother even notices that she's had her hair cut (she'd had it done four months before). Angry with her mother they have a big arguement with Willow threatening to call down Evil to do naughty evil things to her. ("Can you see any goats? No? That's because I've sacrificed them all") Thing go from bad to worse when her mother chloroforms her and she comes round tied to a stake with Buffy and Amy. In a bid to escape Amy turns herself into a rat, who Willow now looks after) They are saved by Cordy (of all people) and Giles and a late arrival by Oz and Xander.

Things take a slightly surreal turn when Anya asks Willow to help her located her necklace (the one she uses to grant wishes). Instead of bringing the necklace from the alternate-Sunnydale they manage to bring across Vampire Willow. The confused vampire manages to find the Bronze but instead of it being the Master's headquarters it is a club full of humans and they're not even chained. After sorting out an irrate Percy (who our Willow is tutoring) she is 'saved' by Xander. Willow thinks he's her (vampire) Xander and is upset to find that he is human. Xander doesn't realise that this isn't the real Willow and thinks that she has just gone a little over the top in the image change department. Seeing Buffy (and knowing she is the Slayer) Vampire Willow shows her real face before storming out. Leaving Buffy and Xander convinced that Willow had been sired.

They go back to the library to mourn until the real Willow shows up wondering who's died. After an affectionate welcome from Xander, Buffy and Giles ("Oxygen becoming an issue") they realise that Willow must have accidentally brought her over when Anya peformed the spell.

Vampire Willow tracks down Willow in the library and they have an amusing first meeting. Buffy manages to save Willow from being sired by her vampire self and Willow has a crisis over how 'kinda skanky, kinda gay' her alternate self is. They manage to send Vampire Willow back to her own reality and Willow hopes that she'll lead a happy undead life. She doesn't though, history letting her get staked in the factory by Oz.

As the Ascension draws nearer, Willow helps Buffy and Angel recover a magical box that the Mayor has accquired to help him ascend to demon form. Unfortunately, Willow is caught by the Mayor's vampires and she is imprisoned in the town hall. When she tries to escape she is confronted by a nasty-looking vampire who tries to feed off her until she stakes him with a pencil and telkinesis. She finds the Mayor's office and the books of Ascension and is reading through them for information when Faith finds her. Willow, upset with the rogue Slayer for sleeping with Xander, for nearly killing Xander and for turning to the dark side gives her a piece of her mind and they have to be pulled apart (in the metaphorical sense) by the Mayor. She is traded by the Mayor for the magical box, but all is not at a loss because Willow ripped out some useful looking pages from the books which she thought Giles might be able to make sense of.

When Buffy got telepathic powers, Willow was afraid that Buffy wouldn't need her anymore and was a little frightened by the way Buffy could read their minds. It took Buffy some time to convince her friend that she'd always need her.

The Ascension and Graduation Day was almost upon them and they still didn't have the faintest idea what was going to happen. Willow was starting to panic and got annoyed with Oz for being able to remain calm in the face of a crisis. Oz showed her what he did when he panicked (ahem), twice, which made them late for their own Graduation.

The mayor defeated, the Ascension stopped, graduated and the school destroyed, it was a fun-packed day for Willow. But time now to look to rhe future, all the Universities and Ivy league colleges in the country wanted Willow to come to them, she'd even had an offer from Oxford ("It's where they makes Giles'!") but she turned them all down to stay in Sunnydale and go to UC Sunnydale with Buffy and Oz. She couldn't leave her friends behind, not after all they'd been through, and they'd always be on the phone to her for help anyway. : )

Willow fits in really well to the new College life. Learning isn't frowned upon here and she loves it, apart from her noisy roommate who is constantly having parties, but that's soon solved when she moves in with Buffy. In fact things couldn't be better, and that's when the terrible happens and she is betrayed by Oz. Although it's not really his fault. yes, he's attracted to Verruca, but it is the animal inside that he can't control. Willow's heart is ripped out by the betrayal and after Oz kills Verruca and nealry goes for Willow, he decides that it would be best for him to leave for a while.

Willow is inconsolable, she trying drinking and doing the dance of the happy toaster but it doesn't help. So she turns to magic, and cast a spell to have her will done, only it goes awry and Spike and Buffy end up in love, Giles goes blind and Anya and Xander are chased around Sunnydale by demons. Her cry of distress is heard by D'Hofferyn (The demon who made Anya a vengence demon) and he offers her a job. She turns it down.

She decides to get on with her life and joins a wicca group, however they're more about bake sales than actual magic, but there's another girl there, Tara. She's a proper Wiccan and can do the spells and stuff. When the Gentlemen come after them, it takes their combined power to stop them. But something more than just magical power passes between them. They become friends. It starts out innocently enough, but then Willow spends the night and their friendship develops into something more.

To begin with Willow says nothing to the other Slayerettes, she doesn't know how to, but eventually she tells Buffy, who's surprised but happy. Tara becomes one of the extended Scooby gang. The overt reason is because she's a powerful witch, the other because she's Willow's girlfriend. And good for her too. For the first time since Oz Willow is truly happy. Or is at elast until Oz comes back. he can control himself and he wants Willow, but she loves someone else now. It's a difficult decision but she chooses Tara and Oz leaves, maybe forever.

In Willow's dream in Restless, both Tara and Oz feature largely. Will doesn't want to leave Tara's bed because she's safe from whatever is stalking her and Oz pops up having a conversation about Willow. Tara tries to guide her, but can't really help and when a dowdy first-season Willow is attacked by the First Slayer she is powerless to help.

Season Five sees the girls relationship go from strength to strength, although there is a little blip when Tara's family comes to town and she is introduced only as a friend rather than a girlfriend. Willow's pwers are continuing to grow, although there is the occassional problem (like when Willow tried to take care of the magic shop while Giles was away) She gets on well with Dawn and when she goes to visit Joyce in hospital she brings a beer hat to cheer her up (as well as homework for Buffy and a book of spells for Dawn).
