The right-hand vamp of the vampire Kakistos, Mr Trick came to Sunnydale with his boss to help track down Faith. A throughly modern vampire, Trick saw the potential of living in Sunnydale as well as using the internet to get mailorder food (a nice Philapino girl, perhaps).

Also a man who knew how to stay ahead of the game he left Kakistos to his inevitable fate at the hands of the Slayer, philosophically telling a fellow mnion that there is plenty of work for vampires with a sense of self-preservation. He aligned himself with a wealthy hunter next and dreamed up the night of fun that was SlayerFest, getting the wiliest hunters, human and demon and giving them two Slayers to track down. (Well, a Slayer and a May Queen anyway.)

His antics brought him to the attention of Mayor Wilkins who gave him the choice of either working for him or getting dusted. And so Trick began work for the City Hall, overseeing Ethan's magical candy as well has helping the Mayor prepare for his Ascension.

He also tried to make life difficult for the Slayer's but ended up meeting his fate at their hands when Faith staked him to save Buffy's life.
