Faith - Rouge Vampire Slayer

We're 5 by 5?

After Kendra died the next Slayer was called, this time in the form of street-smart, quick-thinking Faith. She lived over on the other side of the country with her Watcher and drunken mother. Family life before being called wasn't a bundle of laughs and Faith learnt to rely on herself from an early age.

The arrival of a particulary nasty vampire in the town where Faith lived had a profound effect on her life. Kakistos captured Faith's Watcher and tortured her to death while Faith watched, helpless, unable to do anything to save her life. Faith ran away to escape Kakistos and decided to pay her Slaying sister a visit, hoping that Kakistos wouldn't follow.

So Faith arrived in Sunnydale and the first thing she did was some impromptu Slaying before introducing herself to the resident Slayer and Slayerettes.

In personality, Faith is very different to Buffy, regaling her new-found friends with tales of her Slaying (most of which involved some sort of nudity)(much to Xander's happiness) and she revealed that the act of Slaying made her horny, which lead to raised eyebrows at Buffy. Faith also took a shine to Giles, declaring him sexy, much to his embarrassment. However, Faith does keep her secrets, deciding to lie to Buffy and Giles rather than tell them about Kakistos.

Having no family in town, Faith moved into a seedy motel on the outskirts of town, which was how Kakistos tracked her down. Unable to fight, Faith fled with Buffy close behind. It took the impending death of Buffy for Faith to overcome her fear of Kakistos ans stand up to him, staking him with a large beam.

Watcherless, and with no Watcher ready to replace, Faith was taken under Giles's wing and became part of the Slayerettes. Life returned to normal, or as normal as life can be on the Hellmouth and Faith began to settle in. Unlike Buffy, Faith sees Slaying as fun and takes pleasure in hurting and dusting vampires and other various nasties.

But soon the cracks began to show. The arrival of Gwendolyn Post, Faith's new Watcher, and subsequent exposure as a fraud pushed Faith away from Buffy and the Slayerettes, deciding to spend more time alone in her motel room with only cable for company. After Giles's dismissal from the Council, Wesley became Faith (and Buffy's) Watcher and Faith fragmented even further away from the rest of the group. Unhappy at being kept in the dark over the whole Angel thing and the immenient end of the world, Faith turned into herself only coming out of her shell once more on that fateful night Xander saved her life and got -ahem - a reward for his troubles. :)

The accidental murder of Deptuy Mayor Allan was the last straw for Faith, finding joy in the murder of humans, Faith finished her transisition to the dark side and joined forces with the Mayor and helped him prepare for his Acension.

In Mayor Richard Wilkins III, Faith found the father figure that had been missing from her life. He treated her like a princess, giving her a fully furnished brand-new apartment, a beautiful knife and the freedom to do pretty much whatever she wanted. To begin with she pretended to still be on Buffy's side but when Xander went to talk to her and she tried to kill him, it became painfully obvious that she was no longer one of them.

Angel took her to the mansion, to try and talk her away from the path she was beginning to take and it might have worked if only Wesley hadn't come to take her away back to England to face the Watcher's council.

Now Faith was firmly in the bad guys camp she became more bitter more angry and more pliable to the Mayor's demands which culminated in shooting Angel with a poisoned arrow. The only cure for this poison was the blood of a Slayer.

Upset at the betrayal of her sister-Slayer, Buffy confronted Faith. The meeting went badly though and the two Slayers ended up fighting which ended up with Faith being stabbed in the stomach with her own knife. She tumbled off the building, deciding she'd rather die than save Angel's life. Luckily, she fell on to a passing truck and ended up in hospital in a coma.

Faith did make one more reappearence before the Mayor's Ascension - in Buffy's dream which gave her a clue to defeat the Mayor as well as the cryptic 7-3-oh/0 which still has to come to pass.

Faith does eventually wake up and she is mightly annoyed to fins the Mayor dead and Buffy seemingly living in Bliss. She gets more annoyed as she discovers that Angel, who Buffy tried to save by murdering Faith has left Sunnydale and Buffy has a new man on the block. She goes to confront Buffy at Uni and they get into to fight. It's a draw. Faith bumps into one of the Mayors hench-vamps who gives her a package, it's a video and a ring. The video is from the mayor with instructions on how to use the ring. Faith goes to find Buffy and holds Joyce hostage while she waits for her ex-friend to come along. they fight again, but this time Faith uses the ring and they swop bodies. Faith smugly watches BUffy being taken away and goes to get aquainted with her new body.

She heads out to the Bronze, where she bumps into Spike and makes some very 'suggestive' comments to him (it's no wonder Spike's in lust with Buffy). She also meets Tara and Willow and is the first of Willow's friends to notices that she's batting for the other side. However, Faith notices how everyone treats the Slayer with respect and how grateful the girl she saves from a vampire is. She realises that it can be worthwhile to be good. But she feels that it's too late for her, Faith's the bad apple in people's eyes and it's too difficult to change that.

She goes to see Riley (who thinks she's Buffy) and they make love. It must have been nice because when Faith and Buffy meet up she starts screaming at her body (which Buffy is in) saying that she hates Faith, and everything to do with Faith. when they are returned t their own bodies Faith does a runner and hops on a train heading for the City of Angels . . .
