Where the Wild Things Are
|
Riley's accompanying Buffy on Patrol at the cemetery and helping her fight a vampire. They have the upperhand and the vamp is about to be staked when a demon joins in. Now vamps and demons aren't known for getting along together and it takes them a while to dispose of the nasties. Both of them are worried by what this can mean - Adam is making the demons join forces - this is a bad thing. They decide to go and tell Giles and fully intend to go and tell him, but passions get in the way and they end up at Lowell House succuming to their passions :) Riley is woken up in the middle of the night by a noise. He goes out on to the landing and traces the noise to the communal bathroom. He goes in but there is nothing there, only a leaky bath tap. Xander's job-of-the-week this wekk is Ice Cream seller and he's trundling around Sunnydale in his ice cream van with Anya. Anya's not happy because Xander didn't want to have sex with her, Xander tries to explain to her that it isn't becuase he doesn't love her and that there is nothing wrong with their relationship and there definately isn't anything wrong with any part of him. Anya still isn't convinced so Xander suggests that they have sex right there and then in the ice cream van. What he doesn't realise is that there are a group of parents and their children listening to every word while they wait for their ice cream. Giles meets up with Buffy, Riley, Willow and Tara in the student lounge to discuss the worrying pairing of demon and vampire and the even more worrying fact that Adam is behind it. Riley says that he has organised a party at Lowell house to try and boost the morale of his men. Once their little meeting is over Buffy and Riley disappear off for some alone time, which is no secret to the rest of the gang, including Giles who did go to University. Buffy and Riley continue their 'alone time' back in Riley's room, seemingly unconcerned by the fact the rest of the house is freezing cold. One of the Initiative guys lights a fire to try and warm the house up but the fire flares and sets him on fire. Luckily Graham and Forrest are there and put the fire out. The fire simmers low again. Anya is going to the Bronze on her own when she is ambushed by Spike. She's not scared of him and tells him so. Spike is a bit put out and demands that Anya gives him all her money. She refuses. Spike explains that this is keeping him in blood and smokes and that it amuses him to scare the humans. At the party, Buffy and Riley are on opposite sides of the room staring lovingly at each other. Willow takes advantage of Buffy's distracted-ness to tell her that she spilt purple stuff down Buffy's new peasant top. Buffy doesn't hear for a couple of seconds but it registers and she asks Willow to repeat what she just said. Tara covers for Buffy saying they were talking about Xander's terrible love life. Spike and Anya bond at the Bronze, both of them complaining about not having their demon powers. Spike suggests that they get together, he can go and stake Dru and she can curse Xander. Anya tells him no, but he can go and stake Dru. One of the initiative guys is chatting up a girl at the party and leans against a wall. He starts to get very excited. Xander spots a girl (called Julie) looking at the trophy cabinet, he goes over and chats her up, rather successfully. Buffy and Riley fall prey to their passions again and disappear upstairs. Forrest tuts at their poor excuse. Willow and Tara are sitting on some stairs talking about horses, Willow had a bad experience with them when she was younger and is very afraid of them. She touches Tara's knee and Tara leaps up as if burnt, telling Willow that she is disgusted. Willow is confused and asks what is going on. Tara, distressed doesn't know and runs away. Anya drags Spike along to the party and Spike is horrified that Anya brought him into the lions den. They spot Xander and gang up on him. Xander gets his own back by yelling out that Hostile 17 was there, he then leaves Anya and Spike to their own devices, determined that he's going to have some fun. He spots a gang of kids playing spin the bottle and joins them. On Xander's turn the bottle lands on Julie and she throws herself at him. Xander pushes her away and she runs off crying. Xander follows her to try and find out what's wrong and discovers that she's locked herself in a closet. What he diesn't realise that she is in there cutting off her hair because she's a bad bad person. Willow goes into the bathroom on Riley's landing, to try and find Tara but there is no one there. She hears a noise coming from the bath and goes to look, there is someone drowning in the bath. She goes to pull him out, but he disappears, he's just a ghost. She turns around to find him standing behind her. While all this is going on Buffy and Riley are still having sex, only puasing when they hear Willow's scream and ignoring the rest of the gang when they start banging on the door. The house begins to shake violently and the partygoers all run out of the house. Forrest drags Graham (who seems to be slightly possessed) into the lift and down into the Initiative HQ for further orders. Spike doesn't seem too perturbed by the shaking and is glad that the party is hotting up, or atl least until leather straps appear and bind him to the chair. Elsewhere in the house Anya has a ghost run through her. Spike breaks free of his bindings and the Scoobies gather outside the house and watch as Julie runs past them only a few strands on hair on her head. Xander wants to go back in and rescue Buffy but the others are slightly more cautious. Spike says that he quite likes Buffy but he talks himself out of it and goes off. Xander runs in and is thrown back out. They decide to go and find Giles - who is having some adult time at the Espresso Bar. They find him singing and playing the guitar. The looks on Xander, Anya and Willow's faces are a picture. Willow comments on how she used to have a crush on Giles and Xander debates going into therepy. They go to do some research and discover that Lowell House used to be a children's home and that the matron is still alive. Ther eare no cases of supernatural occurances reported there though. Giles, Anya and Xander go to tak to the matron, Genevieve Holt and she tells them that she treated the kids as if they were her own, rewarding them when they were good and punishing them when they were 'dirty'. It transpires that she used to 'baptise' her kids by holding them under the water in the bath and by cutting off the girls hair. Giles things that poltergeist activity is to blame and are releasing their pent up sexual energy because of Riley and Buffy going at it like rabbits. Giles theorises that they are a battery and once they are drained of their energy they will die. They have to get into the house to save Buffy and Riley. Willow, Tara and Giles perfrom a spell to call the spirits away form Lowell house long enough for Anya and Xander to get in and get Riley and Buffy out. The spirits come to them but once Xander and Anya are in Lowell house they go back to stop them. The stairway leading up to Riley's room is covered in vines and they have to hack their way upstairs. Once on the landing Xander is dragged into the bathroom and Anya is thrown off the balcony. You can't keep a good ex-vengence demon down though and she heads back upstairs. A vine spears her through her hand but she carries on and goes into the bathroom where she finds Xander being drowned by the spirits of the children. They fight against the vines and manage to get Riley's door open. Riley and Buffy are not impressed at being interupted. The next day the gang gather in the cafteria to talk about Giles's mid-life crisis and the aftermath of Buffy and Riley's endless energiser bunny sex. They say, very unconvincingly that it was terrible.
