Season Four
New Moon Rising
|
Willow and Tara are enjoying a walk together. Tara is thinking about getting a pet kitten and wants to know if Willow is allergic to them. Willow says that she's more of a dog person but she has no problems with cats. Tara is glad because she wants ehr room to be Willow friendly. At the Scooby Gang meeting, Buffy tells the gang that she seems to be finding less nasties to fight, and wonders what is going on. Riley says that the Initiative is almost full to bursting with demons. It's almost as if they are letting themselves get captured. As the meeting is winding up an old friend shows up at the door. Oz. It would be anunderstatement to say that they're all surprised to see him, but Xander recovers first and welcomes back Oz with a handshake that says volumes. Oz and Willow organise to meet up later, but their conversation is very uncomfortable. Oz heads off and tara leaves soon after, wanting to be out of Willow's confusing situation. On patrol that evening, Buffy tells Riley about Willow and Oz's terrible break-up and Buffy accidentally lets slip that Oz is a wolf. Riley makes a comment on how he wouldn't expect Willow to date someone like that and Buffy has a go at him about it. Oz and Willow are walking across campus talking about his sabbatical. Oz tells her to look up and when she does she notices that it is a full moon. Oz isn't wolfie - he's managed to control the urge to change. Willow is very pleased for him and gives him a huge hug and they go back to her room to talk the night away. Elsewhere in Sunnydale Graham's team is attacked by a werewolf. One of the team is killed and Graham is injured. Oz wants to get back with Willow. He tells her that Xander said that she doesn't have any guys in her life right now, Willow doesn't tell him why. She nips out to freshen up before breakfast and while Oz is waiting for her, Tara shows up but when she sees that Oz is still there she beats a hasty retreat. Buffy spent the night at Riley's but when she wakes up she is still anoyed with him and his Initiative attitude that all demons and non-humans are evil. He asks her to name one good Vampire. She is saved from answering by Forrest koncking on the door to tell Riley that Graham has been hurt. Buffy goes back to find Willow sitting on her bed looking sad. Buffy asks how it went with Oz and Willow tells her that he can control his wolfy-ness. Buffy is also very pleased but sees that Willow isn't over the moon about it. When she asks why Willow tells her that she is seeing Tara and naturally enough it complicates things. Buffy is a little freaked by this, (becuase she's not noticed) but takes it well enough and talls Willow that she'll support her no matter who she chooses. Adam shows up at Spike's crypt and offers Spike a deal. Help him and Afam will remove the chip and Spike can get back to being a proper vampire. Willow goes to Tara's and tells her that all Oz and she did the night before was talk. Tara tells her that no matter who she chooses, Tara will still be her friend. They hug. Later on Tara bumps into Oz in the college. He's feeling strangely motivated and is getting signed up for classes. He smells Willow on Tara and notices that she is wearing the jumper Willow was wearing earlier on. He concludes (quite quickly) that Tara is in love with Willow and gets very very mad about it. He loses control and turns into a wolf. He chases Tara around the auditorium until the Initiative guys led by Riley show up and capture him. Tara tries to explian who it is but they won't listen. Tara runs to find Willow who in turn calls the gang together to try and come up with a plan to get Oz out. Oz, Meanwhile, is locked in a cage in the Initiative. Riley points a gun at his head and he changes back into Oz who Riley is surprised to see. Riley tries to stop the scientists performing tests on Oz but he is taken away and Oz is left to be cattle prodded until he changes back into a wolf. Spike shows up with information on how to get into the Initiative. But it will cost them. Willow is determined to go with Buffy and Xander on the break out and shows Anya how to tap into the college power supply and cut it so their break in will be less noticable. That night, Riley sneaks back in and lets himself into Oz's cell. He has clothes and gets Oz to change. They start to creep out but they are captured. Oz is put back into his cell and Riley is thrown in the Brig. Riley is lectured by the Colonel on how he has betrayed the Initiative time and time again and this time he won't get away with it. Dressed (again) as commandos and scientists, Spike, Buffy, Willow and Xander break into the Initiative. In his hideout Adam (who is tapped into the Initiative security system) bypasses all the alarms and cuts the pwer (although Anya thinks she's the one who did it). The gang's first stop is the Colonel's room who they take as a hostage. They discover that Riley has been arrested and they get him out. Riley tells Buffy that if he leaves he can never come back. Then they head off and free Oz and escape into the night. Now Riley is in huge trouble with the Initiative, they decide to hide him somewhere and where better than the charry remains of Sunnydale High School. They'll never think to look there. Riley admits that he was wrong about Oz and Buffy decides that it is time to tell Riley about parts of her life that she's edited out before now and it's stuff that he won't like either. She hopes that it won't destroy their relationship. Oz and Willow are sitting in his van and Oz looks a little worse for wear. Oz realises that he shouldn't be back in Sunnydale and is preparing to leave again, to be safely away form the Initiative and from Willow, the one person who makes him turn. Willow goes to Tara's, complete with an extra flamy candle (because the power is still blacked out). Willow tells Tara that she loves her and Tara blows the candle out. |
