It's a nice sunny afternoon and Buffy is busy enjoying it by getting beaten up by a slimy demon. Xander and Willow help her out and they soon get it slayed. They wonder where Faith is, Slimy demons are her favourite. Buffy asks her friends how things are with their respective romances, the outlook isn't good. Both Willow adn Xander want to make it up with Oz and Cordelia and earn their forgiveness, but it isn't proving easy.

That night Cordelia ia sitting in her bedroom listening the the multitude of answer machine messages that Xander has left her while cutting up every picture she has of the two of them and the rest of the Slayerettes.

Cordelia is now well enough to go back to school and tries to show that she is over Xander by joining up with the Cordettes, but her going out with one of the school losers has done her reputation permament damage. Harmony introduces her toa new girl in school, Anya. Harmony them humiliates Cordy in front of everyone.

Willow meets up with Oz and tries to patch things up between them but Oz tells her that it would be best for both of them to leave him alone for now. Cordy gets some more grief off the Cordettes and runs into Anya. Anya asks her what's going on and Cordy tells her about Xander and how over him she is.

At the Bronze that night she flirts with every man there, making sure that Xander is watching every moment. Xander is moping with Willow and Buffy, trying to find some consolation in chocolate, it isn't working. Cordelia leaves, Buffy follows to make sur that Cordy is okay and whatnot and find Cordy getting attacked by a vampire. Buffy pushes her out of the way and Cordy lands in a pile of rubbish. Buffy slays the vampire just in time for Harmony and the Cordettes to come out and find Cordy sitting in the rubbish. Cordy tells Buffy that she wants nothing else to do with her.

Cordelia comes to the conclusion that Buffy is the cause of all her troubles. Before she moved to town there were no vampires or monsters or anything. Anya give Cordelia her 'lucky necklace' and persuades Cordy to make a wish.

"I wish Buffy never came to Sunnydale"

Anya turns to face Cordy and her face has changed into a horrible demonic visage. She says 'done' and there is a flash of light. Cordelia is transported to another Sunnydale, one without Buffy.

It is immediately obvious that all is not right in this Sunnydale. The halls are deserted and there is a daily assembly for those students who have died or gone missing. Everyone wears dark colours, because vampire are attracted to bright colours. And everynoe has to be home before the sunset curfew. When the bell rings for the end of school everyone scatters to be home beofre dark. cordy suggests that her and the Cordettes go to the Bronze and she gets laughed at. The Bronze is not a place for the living.

Cordelia doesn't realise the danger she is in and dawdles on her way home. She is walking through the main part of town when she bumps into Xander and Willow. But there is something different about them. They are dressed in leather for a start. They're also a little bit meaner and Willow is downright strange. it all becomes clear when they reveal to Cordy that they are Vampires. They go to attack Cordy but she is saved by the timely arrival of Giles and the Scooby Gang in Oz's van. The alternate Scooby gang consist of Giles, Oz, Larry and a girl called Nancy.

They take her back to the Library.

The Bronze is now the base of operations for the vampires. In this reality, because Buffy didn't prevent the Harvest, the Master arose and is in control. Willow and Xander are his favourites. They report back to the Master and tell him that Cordelia mentioned the Slayer before she was rescued by the white hats. "A name that strikes feasr into nobody's heart," Xander says.

Xander comes around in the Library and tells Giles about the wish she made and how it brought her here to this reality. She adds that if he brings Buffy to Sunnydale everything will be okay again.

Just then Evil Xander and Evil Willow arrive. They lock Giles in the bookcage and make him watch helplessly as they feed on Cordy, killing her. Once the vampires have left Giles breaks out of the bookcage. When Larry and Oz arrive they take Cordelia away to be incinerated, but before they do, Giles takes the necklace that Cordy was wearing off.

The vampiric Willow and Xander return to the Master with the good news and the Master allows Willow to play with the 'puppy'. The 'puppy' is a chained and beaten Angel, for the torturing pleasure of the Master and the other vampires. Willow and Xander flick lit matches onto his chest while Willow taunts him.

Giles is in the Library doing some research and he's found out some information about the necklace. On his way home he comes upon a group of vampires loading people up into a van. Giles rescues them but ends up getting caputured himself. But before he can be taken away he's saved by a familiar face. A scarred and harder Buffy.

They go back to Giles' place and he fills her in in what is going on. He tells her about the demon Anyanka, the patron saint of scorned women, who travels the world granting wishes. Giles also tells her that the Master is in town and she heads off to the Bronze to kill him.

When she gets to the Bronze she finds it deserted, apart frm one person, Angel. She goes to rescue him but stops when she realises that he's a vampire. He tells her that he waited to her to come to Sunnydale, waited and waited but she never came. The the Master performed the Harvest rites and decided to keep Angel alive and make him suffer.

Against her better nature she lets Angel free and he takes her to the factory where the vampires are gathering. The Master has been busy since he rose, developing a machine that can drain every last bit of blood out of a human.

The majority of the surviving humans in Sunnydale have been captured, including Oz and Larry and many other familiar faces and locked in a big wooden cage where they can watch the festivities. One of the Cordettes are chosen to be the first victim of the machine. It inserted a load of tubes into her body which syphons off the blood. As the Master is about to take a drink of the newly harvested blood, Buffy appears and shoots at the Master with a crossbow. Xander catches it. Buffy heads for the Master. Angel lets the humans out and a huge fight starts. Angel tries to save Buffy from an attack by Xander, but takes a crossbow bolt to the chest and dusts.

At his apartment, Giles calls Anyanka. She is furious that a mere man has called her and tries throws herself at him, choking him. Giles rips her necklace off her neck.

Back at the factory, Buffy is fighting Xander, she stakes him and runs through the dust towards her next target. Oz impales Willow on a shaft of wood and she's dusted too. The Master descends from the stage and comes up behind Buffy who's too busy concentrating on the other vamps. He grabs her and snaps her neck, then drops her to the ground.

While being choked by Anyanka, Giles uses his lamp to smash Anya's necklace, he hopes that what Cordy said was true and that the world she came from was much nicer than the Hell on earth that is his.

There is another flash of light and Cordelia is back at the school, making her wish. Anya says done but nothing happens, Cordelia carries on making wishes to which Anya says done but still nothing happens.

Oblivious to what is going on Buffy, Xander and Willow sit on the low wall laughing and talking.
