Buffy's Diaries - Season 3 - Consequnces

Season Three

Consequences

Buffy is having a nightmare. She is dreaming that she is underwater and Allan is holding her down. She manages to break away but when she reaches the surface Faith is waiting for her and pushes her back under the water. Buffy wakes with a start. She hears the tv on in an other rrom and goes to investigate. Joyce is watching the news and they're reporting on the murder of Deputy Mayor Allan Finch.

That day at school, Welsey instructs the two Slayers to find out who killed the Deputy Mayor, Buffy is worried about doing so as she already knows who the murderer was. Cordelia pops her head into the library, looking for a book for class. Wesley is immediately taken by her and starts to chat her up until the others point out that Cordy is a student.

Buffy takes Faith into a empty classroom to talk about what they are going to do about the murder. Faith wonders if Buffy is going to rat her out to the Watchers. Buffy does want to tell Giles, because he'll know what to do. Buffy decides to talk to Willow but her friend is still hurt by Buffy spending so much time with the other Slayer.

The police are investigating the Deputy mayor's death are have found the scene of the crime, Angel watches them from the shadows. At the Town hall, the Mayor and Mr Trick are shredding Allan's files, he's left quite a paper trail, which leaves the Mayor wondering if Allan was going to expose the Mayor at a later date. Mr Trick tells the Mayor that it seems that Allan was killed by a wooden stake through the heart. Which means only two possible murderers . . . Buffy and Faith.

The two Slayers break into Allan's office, but find that all his files are gone. As they are about the leave, Trick and the Mayor come out of another room, forcing the two Slayers to try and hide, luckily they are not caught.

When they are walking through town later on, Buffy and Faith get into a really big fight. Buffy tells Faith that just because they are Slayers they do not have the right to kill humans, they have their strength to fight demons and the like, not humans. Faith refuses to listen to sense, she says that she doesn't feel remorse for the death of someone who deserved to die anyway.

Later, the police visit Buffy and Faith's places to interview them about Allan's death, but their stories match up. Which is lucky.

Buffy confesses to Willow what happened and Willow tells her to go and talk to Giles about it. So she heads off to the library and finds Faith has beaten her to it. Unfortunately, Faith has told Giles that it was Buffy that killed Allan. Giles tells Faith to leave and after she does, Buffy protests her innocence and Giles tells her that he knows that Buffy is innocent, he knows that Faith is the killer but is going along with her story. He and Buffy agree to bring the rest of the Slayerette's in on the problem and try and sort it out themselves. They do not know that Wesley is standing outside listening to them. He phones the Watcher's Council in England to arrange to have Faith taken back to England for trial before the council.

The Mayor and Trick watch a CCTV tape of the two Slayers breaking into the Town Hall and the Mayor tells Trick to deal with them.

Back at the school, Buffy fills everyone in on what is going on with Faith and the murder and everything. She says that they have to try and find a way to help Faith. Xander suggests that he goes and talks to Faith because they have a "connection". Buffy figures out first what Xander means quickly followed by Giles. They all look at Willow who says that yes she worked it out too. After the meeting Willow goes for a cry in the girls toilets.

Xander goes to Faith's place, but she thinks he's only there for the sex. Xander genuinely wants to help. She throws him onto the bed and kisses him rather painfully before trying to strangle him. Luckily, before she can kill him Angel shows up and pulls her off Xander, hitting her over the head with a baseball bat and taking her back to the mansion with him.

He chains her up and tries to talk some sense into her. Getting fruststed with the Slayer's lack of cooperation Angel goes out into the sunken garden where Buffy is waiting for him. He tells her that he'll try his best, but if Faith doesn't want to be helped then there is nothing her can do.

He goes back in to talk to Faith again, and it seems to be working when Welsey and a bunch of hired hands burst in, trap Angel with a net and take Faith away with them, handcuffing her before they leave. In the van, on the way to the airport Faith overpowers one of the guards and tells Wesley to set her free or he'll kill her. He does and she jumps out of the van disappearing into the night.

Buffy finds Angel all tied up when she comes back to check on him and Faith and he quickly explains what is going on. Buffy goes back to the library and tells the other's that Faith is free. What are they going to do about it? Willow suggests that after all that Faith has done to them that they throw her in jail. Welsey shows up and tells them that he let Faith escape. They spilt up into groups to try and find her and Buffy finds her at the docks. They get into a fight and a pallet of crates are dropped down on them. Buffy pushes Faith out of the way and the crates fall on top of her. Mr Trick and some hench-vamps find the Slayers and attack Faith, leaving Buffy to get free of the wreckage of the crates. Buffy joins the fight and takes on Mr. Trick who manages to corner her and wrap a scarf aroound her neck, half-strangling her. He is about to take a bite out of Buffy when he explodes into dust, revealing Faith holding a stake.

Buffy goes back to Giles and tells him that she is not going to give up on Faith, no matter what.

Faith however, has plans of her own. There is a knock on the Mayor's office door. When he opens it, Faith is standing there, she tells him that Trick is gone and the Mayor seems to have a job vacancy which she is willing to fill.
