Buffy has brought him some blood and he asks how everything is going with Scott. buffy lies and says that everything is fine. Angel confesses that he's worried about her and tells her that he's almost better and won't need her help for much longer. Buffy arrives home after dark and finds Giles and Joyce waiting for them. They have discovered that she has been lying about where she's going and Joyce sends her to bed. After she's gone, Giles and Joyce sit on the sofa eating the Band candy that Buffy sold to them. Back at Giles's apartment he and Joyce are listening to records and acting like teenagers on a first date. Joyce suggests that they go to the Bronze, but Giles wants to have fun. Buffy and Willow get to the Bronze unscathed. The Dingoes are playing onstage but the place is full of everyone's parents. Buffy and Willow look around in horror. Buffy, Willow and Oz are majorly wigged and decide to leave, Snyder tagging along. They pile into the Jeep and decide to go and find Giles. as they are driving along another car jumps a red light and drives into them, smashing in the side of the car. They're not hurt though. In a factory, Trick is over seeing the production of the chocolate bars. We find that its Ethan Rayne who is in charge of this little trick. trick leaves him to get on with it while he goes to perform the 'tribute' Ripper (Giles) and Joyce are roaming the streets aimlessly when Joyce sees a coat she likes in a closed shop. Ripper uses a dustbin to smash the window and get Joyce the coat. A police man shows up, who Ripper knocks out and steals his gun. Joyce is impressed by Rippers manliness and they start making out on the bonnet of the car (and that's not all they do either.) Buffy realises that there are no vamps around and worries more. She sends Willow and Oz to find Xander and Cordy and get to the library and research anything on 'candy curses' Buffy (with Snyder tagging along) finds the factory where the chocolate is being produced and walks past her mom and Giles making out in the middle of the street. buffy backs up and spilts them apart. She tries to reasion with Joyce, but she's not listening. Buffy heads for the factory, pulling Joyce along with her and Snyder and Giles following. Inside Buffy sees Ethan and she and Giles give chase. They eventually catch him, and Buffy pummels him a little bit for information. She discovers that Trick needed the adults of Sunnydale to be so out of it that they didn't notice the tribute being taken so the Mayor could pay off a demon called Laconus. Across town, four vampires come into the hospital and take four babies from the maternity unit. In the library, Willow and the others have found out why the adults are acting so wierd, Willow looks up Laconus and discovers that he's a baby eating demon. Buffy, Joyce, Giles and Snyder head for the hospital but they are too late. The babies are already gone. Giles remembers that Laconus is a sewer-dwelling demon so off Buffy goes. Buffy, Giles and Joyce interupt the ritual. Buffy stakes three out of four hench-vamps while Giles and Joyce get the babies to safety. Trick tries to fight Buffy but ends up retreating as does the Mayor. Laconus eats the last vampire, before Buffy uses a gas pipe and a burning torch to barbeque him. The next day, everything is returning to normal. Snyder spots Buffy and the others standing by the lockers and volunteers them for locker cleaning duty. At the end of school Buffy complains about how badly her SATs went. Joyce and the battered Jeep are waiting for them and Joyce explains that Buffy is going to pay off the repairs with her allowance. Buffy says that at least she got to Joyce and Giles before they actually did anything. As Buffy gets into the car, the two adults look guilty at each other before Giles beats a hasty retreat.
