Teacher's Pet

Buffy is at the Bronze. She meets up with Angel who warns her again of another demon in town. (You know, the usual thing he does). She notices a scar on his arm and asks him about it. He warns her to be wary of 'fork guy' or he'll rip her throat out. He gives her his leather coat and then leaves, (You know, the way he does). In biology class the next day, Dr Gregory tells Buffy that he wants to prove everyone who doubts her ability to succeed in school wrong, but only with Buffy's help. The next day however, Dr gregory is missing and a substitute teacher is in his place. The teacher is the beautiful Miss Natalie French. It seems that every guy in the class (including Xander) falls head over heels in lust for her. She teaches the class about the Praying Mantis and at the end of the class asks for volunteers to help her make egg sacs like those of the Mantis. Blaine (a jock) gets assaigned to help on the first day (much to Xander's chargrin), but Xander is picked to help on the next day. That night, Buffy goes on the hunt for 'fork guy' in Sunnydale's Park. She tracks him down, they fight, but he runs away before she can stake him. As she's heading home she spots a vampire stalking Miss French (who's carrying a pile of groceries). Strangely, when Miss french turns around to look at the vampire, the vampire gets scared and runs off. Buffy doesn't know why this is. The next day, Buffy gets to school late. She has missed the start of Biology and peers in through the window. Miss French senses her presence and turns her head around Excorist-style to look at her. This (naturally) wigs Buffy out and she makes a hasty retreat to the Library, meeting Willow on the way. Neither Giles or Willow believe Buffy's story, so she does to research to back up her story. She discovers that Miss French is really a giant Preying mantis. Now they have to believe her. Giles calls a friend in England who has encounter the same type of demon and finds out that the only way to kill her is to dismember her. buffy tells Giles to record bat sonar, because she learnt in Biology that it freezes up the mantis nervous system. She heads of to find Xander and warn him. Too late though. Xander is already at Miss French's house. She plys him with drugged Martini and she drags him down into her basement and locks him ain a cage (next to Blaine). When he comes round, he notices the gibbering wreck that is Blaine and they both watch the She-mantis prepare the egg sacs. Blaine tells Xander that he's already seen her take a guy, lay her eggs and then bite his head off, killing him. Blaine doesn't want to be next. While Xander is frantically trying to come up with an escape plan, the mantis chooses him to be the next father of her 'children'. He tries to escape but fails and is tied up. Buffy, Giles and Willow go round to the address of the Miss French listed on the computer records and discover that the She-Mantis used a retired teacher's records to get into the school. Buffy goes down into the sewers to get someone to lead her to the She-Mantis's lair. She reappears with 'fork guy' and uses him as radar to get to Ms French's house. Buffy crashes into the basement and saves Xander and Blaine. Giles plays the bat sonar and Buffy machete's the She-Mantis into tiny little pieces. After all this is done, Willow memtions that the She-mantis only chooses virgins, hastily adding that it's something she won't bring up again. Later that night at the Bronze, Angel turns up to congratulate Buffy on a jon well done. She tries to return his leather coat, but he won't accept it saying that it looks better on her. This next day in Biology, there's a new strict teacher in place of Dr. Grgory. Buffy picks up Dr. Gregory's glasses and puts them in the closest by the desk. The camera lingers long enough to show a sac of hatching eggs under one of the shelves.
