QUARTERSTAFF
We first see the Quarterstaff in the episode 'Angel'. Usually associated with Friar Tuck, the staff isn't a cool object to fight with, as Buffy points out. However, Giles forces her to train with it (a bad thing to do) and of course she bests him with it just so she can learn to use the Crossbow (a much cooler weapon). A weapon not often seen nowadays, (apart from 'Gladiators' where it resembles a giant baby-bud) (and in RPG's on the PlayStation) the simple length of wood has been ousted by much more trendy weapons (like the crossbow or a giant sword). However it's popularity will increase again when 'The Phantom Menace' is released as Darth Maul has a light sabre version of one. (cool!)
HOW TO USE
OTHER USES FOR A QUARTERSTAFF
Nail it to the wall of our dangerous attic stairs and then we'd have a bannister to grab at when we fall down it.
