A lone girl (called Alonna) walks down a streets in a decidedly shady part of town. She is being followed by a group of vampires. The vampires don't realise that they are being led into a trap. Alonna's brother Gunn and a group of friends are waiting for them, stakes out and ready to go. A huge fight ensues.

Wesley, Cordelia and Angel are invited to a party which is being thrown by a propective client, David Nabbit. He's the mutli-billionaire owner of a software company. He is being blackmailed by a shady character called Lenny Edwards who had photos of him going to the most imfamous of demon brothels, Madame Dorion's. David lets slip that he has visited the establishment 12 times. Wesley mentions that it is well known to the Watcher's council as a place of ill-dispute

Back at the vampire fight, the humans sem to have the upper hand. As well as the more traditional stakes, they have a van mounted stake launcher and the front of the van has a few sharp and pointy fence posts attached to it. The vampires make a run for it leaving the humans to retreat to safety with their wounded. One of whom is Alonna's boyfriend.

Angel goes to Madame Dorion's, but the Madame is very unforthcoming with information. Angel manages to persuade her to help and Dorion brings out David's favourite Lina to help Angel with his investigation.

Gunn gets word from other members of his gang that there is a vampire nest nearby and preparations are made to wipe it out.

Angel catches up with Lenny and makes it very clear to him to drop the blackmail or Lenny will be in some serious trouble. Gunn and some of the other gang memembers watch the exchange and when they see that Angel is a vampire Gunn decides to do away with the vampire himself.

Cordelia and Wesley meet with David to collect payment and are both very shocked by the huge amount of money that David is giving them, but they accept the cheque with good grace. he promises more money once the job is completed. He also thanks them for talking to them at his party.

The next night, Angel and Lenny meet up, but Lenny has brought a demon bodyguard with him. Angel fights and beats the demon and gets the photos. However, the gang members choose that moment to attack and stake him in the chest (luckily not the heart) and to escape them he runs into a deserted building . . . which is booby trapped. he amanges to get through all the traps and is confronted by Gunn and the others. As he tries to explain that he's a good vampire Alonna trips a wire and it's only Angel's fast reflexes that stop her getting staked. They leave him to make his own way out of the building.

Back at the office Cordelia cleans and dresses his wounds while the guys look at the photos Angel got. They are both slightly disgusted by what they are looking at. Angel is still in pain, but looking at the huge cheque makes him feel a little better. He goes to find the nest of vampires before the kids do.

Knox, the leader of the vampire group talks to his group members, planning to dispose of the kids. Angel and Gunn meet up again and Gunn wants to know why a vampire wants to be good and go good. While they are talking the vampires attack and through smoke bombs into the gamg hideout forcing them outside and allowing themselves to be kidnapped. oNe of those taken is Gunn's sister Alonna.

Cordelia and Wesley help Angel by tracking to track down the building Gunn has been using. Angel offers to help Gunn, but Gunn won't hear of it and locks Angel in a meat locker. Gunn finds the building and goes in to investigate. He finds his sister there, she's been turned. She tells him that she doesn't need him to depend on now and he doesn't have to look after her. She asks him to join her.

Angel tries to punch his way out of the locker, but isn't having much success. Cordy and Wesley find him and let him out. They ask why he didn't use his mobile phone and he sulks.

Gunn and Alonna embrace and Gunn stakes her, not wanting to see the monstrosity that is in his sister's body. The rest of Gunn's gang burst in and the humans and the vampires face off. Angel comes in and tells the vampire's to get out of his town otherwise they'll be trouble. Knox mouths off at Angel asking who he is. Angel tells him that his name is Angelus as he kills him. The vampires know who this person is and decide that Angel's offer is a good one and leave.

Later Cordy and Wesley are sitting in the park and discussing the street kids and how terrible their life must be. Cordy ponders the odea of prostituting herself to David as a companion, but with a little help form Wesley talks herself out of it.

As the sun sets, Angel joins Gunn. They talk about their continuing fights with evil, and Angel tells the boy that one day he might need Gunn's help.
