|
Kate chases after and manages to catch a suspect. She interogates him. She wants to know the whereabouts of a man called Little Tony. Much to her annoyance he won't talk. Angel is fighting a tentacled monster in the sewers (what a way to spend a Sunday). The tentacled monster seems to have the upper hand (as it were) until Doyle and Cordelia show up with an enchanted sword. Angel asks what took them so long, to which Doyle retorts that there are not many magic sword shops open on a Sunday. Angel kills the monster and leaves Cordy and Doyle to clean up. When Cordelia and Doyle get back, Cordelia has worked up a mood. She is sick of Angel treating them so badly - would be be so difficult for him to say please or thank you for a change? When Angel asks whats wrong Doyle points out that he isn't the most personable of bosses. Just then Kate walks in. She needs Angel's help to try and track down Little Tony because time is running out and all her sources have dried up. Angel says that he'll help. Doyle and Cordy start researching and Angel attempts to be nice to Cordy, with is met by a 'lame!'. But he's trying and that's what counts. But the research does come up with some results and Angel heads off to the docks to find Little Tony. Back at the Station House Kate bumps into her father, who is about to retire, he's come to hand in some pension forms. Kate tells her dad that she's been asked by one of his friends to speak at his retirement party. She is about to say something else when she is interupted by a phone call from Angel. She tells him not to get involved anymore and go home. As Angle watches Little Tony, he relaises that kate might not get there in time and comes up with a little diversion. He dresses up in a Hawaiian shirt and hat and pretends to be a tourist. His cover is quickly blown - the hat might have been a little too much and gets into a fist fight with Little Tony's bodyguards as the police show up. Once Little Tony is safely in a police car, Kate tells Angel off for getting involved. Back at the Police House, Tony calls his lawyer, a representative from Wolfram and hart (remember them) a horrible little man who is very difficult to deal with. Leaving Tony locked up in the cells, Kate goes to celebrate and discovers that all the officers have to partake insensitvity training much to the officers disgust. Kate goes along to a class where a 'talking stick' is passed around, and only the people holding the stick are allowed to talk. Kate thinks it's stupid, but is persuaded to hold the stick. Doyle goes to his sources to find out some more on Tony and discovers that he is planning something. A little more research reveals that Tony wants to kill Kate. Angel goes to warn her and she invites him to her father's leaving do. Kate's behaving differently, she seems more nice than usual. The lawyer from Wolfram and Hart goes to talk to the guy running the classes and asks if it's working. He says that it is and promises dramatic changes. At the party, Kate giving a very emotional speech about how her father stopped loving anything (other than his job) when kate's mother died. All the other officers start sharing their feelings too and some of them even start to fight. Angel gets Kate out of the madhouse and takes her back to the office. Cordelia and Doyle babysit the very sinsitive Kate while Angel goes to find the cause of her strange behaviour - the guy running the classes. Kate is getting more and more heartfelt but ends up pulling out a gun on Cordy and Doyle so she can go back to the Police Station and find her dad. They let her go - they had no other choice. Angel finds Allen (the sensitivity guy) and starts to ask the questions, vamping out when he doesn't get the responses he wants, unfortunately he touches the stick. Cordy and Doyle follow Kate back to the station but can't get in, because the officer on the door says that they are closed and locks the door. Inside the stationhouse it is mayhem. The officers are either crying or fighting (or both) and one of the officers has lets all the criminals out of the cells. Angel joins Cordy and Doyle outside the Station and it is immediately obvious that he has been changed when he tries to give Cordy and Doyle a hug. Angel explains that the talking stick is cursed and that he touched it. Angel won't help them get into the station so they go around the back and Doyle and Cordy break a window to get in. Angel says that that's vandalism and maybe they should leave a note. The escaped criminals have got hold of weapons and Tony is out to get Kate. He finds her and points a gun at her. Angel arrives and tries to tal Tony out of killing Kate, but he is saddened that he has to resort to violence. Once Tony is out of the way he and Kate hug (ahhh). The next day the officers are back to normal and a clean up is in progress. Angel comes to make sure Kate is okay then watches from the shadows as Kate's dad tells her that as far as he is concerned, everything that happened the night before at the party, didn't happen and he doens't want it mentioned again. |
