Darla returns home to find Angel huddled in a corner by the fire. She doesn't understand what is causing him distress until she realises that he has a soul. Screaming at the unclean thing (in her view) that he's become she throws him out onto the streets, telling him never to darken her doorstep again.

Faith meets up with the three Laywers and works out a deal for killing Angel, which includes a considerable amount of money. When one of the lawyers threaten her she beats him up.

Angel gets hold of Giles to find out what's up with Faith while Wesley maons that Giles didn't have the consideration to phone him. Angel tells Cordy and Wesley to lie low until he gets Faith. They want to help him and Angel has to remind them that they aren't the Scooby Gang and that he is the boss.

Later he is preparing to face Faith when he senses her presence in the office upstairs. He goes up to investigate and finds her standing in the window sunlight falling on her. She tells him that she's going to deal with him slowly and painfully and gives him the chance to get rid of her by throwing him a gun. He fires it but it is full of blanks. She tells him that she's working for the nice lawyers now and that they are paying her $15,000 to get rid of him. She then shoots him with the same gun but this time the bullet is real and leaves.

Angel dresses up in a suit and tie and pretends to be a lawyer to get into Wolfram and Hart, in particular Lindsey's office. he doesn't find anything useful though until Lindsey walks in and tells him that the building is covered in magical wards that sense demons and vamps and is much more effective than conventional security systems. He adds that every part of this conversation is on tape. Angel leaves.

Wesley and cordy go back to her apartment to get some things. Dennis won't let her in to begin with and once he does Cordy tries to explain that Hell will freeze over before she sleeps with Wesley. She is about to go into her bedroom when Faith walks out. Wesley and Cordelia say that they want to help her but Faith won't listen and punches Cordy out and kicks Wesley across the room.

It starts to rain outside (is this connected at all to Faith's dream in This Year's Girl?) as they fight. Angel won't kill her though and Faith keeps on pounding him telling him that she is evil. Suddenly she breaks down in tears and tells him through her sobs that he should kill her. Angel hold her as she sinks to the ground.
